FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I’ve just had surgery and I think I’m suffering from a complication. What do I need to do ?
The following symptoms should be a warning sign :
- heavy vaginal bleeding : you fill one pad or tampon per hour for more than two hours at a time
- severe abdominal pain not relieved by prescribed medication
- a fever or chills
- you feel weak or dizzy
- you have difficulty breathing or chest pain
a greenish or purulent vaginal discharge - vomiting or inability to eat due to nausea
If you have any of the warning symptoms described above or any other symptoms that worry you, please go to the nearest emergency room. You absolutely need an urgent evaluation (physical examination, blood tests with or without imaging), which we can’t offer you at the clinic. If your condition permits, we strongly recommend that you come to Suroît Hospital so that the emergency team can access your surgical file. If necessary, the emergency physician will contact the gynecologist on duty and tell you whether or not you need to move up your post-operative appointment with your gynecologist.
ABDOMINAL WOUND COMPLICATIONS: If your wound opens up, is red, hurts more and more, or if you notice a purulent discharge, please click on the ” Book an appointment ” button and fill out our online form.
